By 1966 the mini skirt had come into full affect after being designed by Mary Quant. She got the idea from the designs of Courrèges and made them shorter, 6 to 7 inches above the knee and named the skirt after her favorite car, the mini. The mini skirt was one of the most popular trends in fashion during the sixties and still is just as popular today.
