If You're Going To San Francisco...

San Francisco was the place to be in the sixties if you loved music.  It was home to many of the psychedelic bands such as The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Great Society, Big Brother And The Holding Company etc. and to the Matrix club, The Fillmore and Winterland, where most of the San Francisco bands played at.  In 1967 the song San Francisco(Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) helped bring thousands of hippies to San Francisco to celebrate the Summer Of Love.  The Haight Ashbury district was where the whole hippie lifestyle/movement began.  There was a whole lotta love going on in San Francisco and that made it a hippie haven in the sixties.
